Suzanne Stack grew up loving and appreciating good food.
As a girl in Connecticut, she savored her mother's home cooking. As a mother, raising a family in Manalapan, NJ, not far from the Jersey Shore, she passed on that tradition of home-cooking to her three children, Amanda, Jennifer, and Tim. Along the way, Suzanne grew into a chef who simply loves to cook with fresh ingredients, transforming them into pure, simple yet elegant dishes.
In 1993, she began her culinary career as an assistant to celebrity chefs doing cooking demonstrations at the famed DeGustibus cooking school at Macy's in New York. With her passion and knowledge growing, Macy's hired Suzanne to do her own cooking demonstrations.
She began teaching professionally in 1998, opening her own cooking school and catering business, Cooking with Suzanne. Sharing with people her passion for food became a way of life and she became an instructor at the Culinary Education Center of Monmouth County (NJ), an arm of Brookdale College in 1999. Her own studies have included courses at the French Culinary Institute in New York City and the Culinary Institute of America in Hyde Park, NY.
In 2002, Suzanne worked at the critically acclaimed Restaurant Serenade in Chatam, NJ, for chef James Laird and his wife Nancy Sheridan Laird, learning the ropes, so to speak, of the restaurant business. "Suzanne brings not only a true passion for food, but diverse life experiences to her new restaurant," says James Laird.
On August 2003, Suzanne and her husband Bob opened Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine. She has thoroughly enjoyed cooking for customers and giving them lasting memories of their dining experiences. Additionally, it has been extremely rewarding for her and Bob to host special dinners (rehearsals, weddings, retirement parties, birthday dinners, baby showers, etc.) and have customers thoroughly enjoy their special day.
This winter, Suzanne conducted cooking demonstration classes organized by the Lodi library. She enjoys sharing her passion for food and it was certainly enjoyed by the participants. More cooking classes are on the horizon. If a group is interested in a cooking demonstration lunch or dinner, give Suzanne a call. She would be happy to discuss creating a class around the participants interests.
