Our Finger Lakes Journey
On vacation from New Jersey and traveling south on the Seneca Lake Wine Trail, the sky opened up to a breathtaking view of Seneca Lake. On our left was a handsome 1903 farmhouse with recently put up For Sale signs. The short story is one year later, Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine – a fine dining restaurant, opened for business. In our 13 years of owning and operating the business, we have thoroughly enjoyed cooking for and pleasing our customers. While the work is not easy the rewards are many! We are proud to be a part of this wonderful Finger Lakes community and of our passionate and ever-learning staff.
From growing the business to hosting wedding receptions to growing 150+ heirloom tomato plants last year to cooking class dinners to a set five course tasting menu, each step we passionately embraced and, fortunately, our customers trusted us and enjoyed the continuously sincere, fresh and educational approach to dining.
Now our biggest change…Our establishment will now be Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine – Cooking School, Private Dining and Special Events. We will offer both hands-on and demonstration classes, wine dinners, private parties and wedding receptions. The schedule will be carefully managed so that each offering is a special well thought out and executed experience.
This year we are expanding our cooking school offerings. Suzanne’s culinary experience dates back well before 2002 with her cooking school in New Jersey and as a culinary instructor at Brookdale Community College. More recently, in 2011 Suzanne was a semi-finalist for a James Beard Best Chef-Northeast award. The awards are considered by many in the food industry to be the Oscars of cooking. Her passion for teaching rivals her conviction to produce fresh, comfortably creative food for all to enjoy!
