Deemed "the Oscars of the food world," by Time magazine, The James Beard Foundation Awards are the country's most coveted honor for chefs; food and beverage professionals; broadcast media, journalists, and authors working on food; and restaurant architects and designers. On February 17th, the James Beard Foundation released their list of Semi-Finalists for 2011. Chef Suzanne Stack was one of those selected as a semi-finalist for Best Chef - Northeast. She did not become a finalist but to be one of 20 semi-finalists from over 28000 nominations is an honor that Suzanne is humbly proud of. Who knows, maybe next year!! |
We will be open for dinner Wednesday through Sunday through November 13th.
On November 19th, we are excited to have Ravines Winery here for a
five course Winemakers Dinner called "A Taste of France in the Finger Lakes."
An hors d'oeurves reception will begin @ 6 pm followed by dinner.
The cost is $95 per person excluding tax and gratuity.
Ravines was recently touted in both the Wine Spectator and the NY Times.
According to Eric Asimov of the NY Times "Ravines Wine Cellars, one of the best
producers, makes a wonderful dry Riesling. I drank a 2009 and liked it so much
that I bought a case...". James Molesworth of Wine Spectator included Morten
Hallgren, the owner and winemaker of Ravines, in a group of 4 Finger Lakes
winemakers and said, "As a group, they represent a combination of outside
expertise and homegrown know-how that is giving the Finger Lakes a fresh
perspective on wine".
Ravines style and passion for winemaking parallels our approach with food and
we think the evening will be most enjoyable.
Meticulously crafted American food, using the finest local ingredients, is the
calling card at this sophisticated but relaxed country-elegant spot, in an old
farmhouse with swoon-worthy views of Seneca Lake.
The Syracuse Post-Standard
August 31 2006 issue had a review which started out:
The restaurant name,
Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine, may be a mouthful, but
it's right on the mark when chef Suzanne Stack and her partner-husband
Robert offer creative dishes with organic fruits and vegetables, fresh fish,
poultry and meats in a charming setting on their 100-acre farm.
The Ithaca Times
had a glowing review by Kirsten Wasson in their September 6 2006
issue. She wrote:
"The presentation at Suzanne's is superb; every plate is prepared with an eye
toward perfection, and one senses her presence in the kitchen, as she cooks,
arranges and sends out plates with an astute vision. In person, Suzanne is
down-to-earth and warm." ... and:
Also, on Sunday, September 24 2006, the
New York Times T Style Magazine - Travel recommended
Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine in an article
New York Uncorked which also talked about several of the
nearby wineries on Route 414.
Our Corn Chowder recipe was featured in
the July 2005 Gourmet Magazine.
Being written about in Gourmet Magazine is certainly exciting and while we
do aim to delight the palate of those seeking gourmet dining, we do so in
a warm and relaxing atmosphere where everyone can feel comfortable. We
think gourmet dining means fresh, full of taste and exciting (like our
Finger Lakes ingredients)!

Presenting Finger Lakes' finest, Suzanne Fine Regional Cuisine is a
delightful place for an autumn evening dinner.
Owners Suzanne and Robert Stack
have transformed a 1903 landmark farmhouse into an elegant restaurant
overlooking Seneca Lake. Open just one year, the restaurant uses the
ingredients and the talents of local farmers,
winemakers and artisans to create
a dining experience that captures the flavor of the Finger Lakes.
